    Default Type of GYM

    Hey guys and gals,
I was in my gym last night and had a look round and assessed the type of gym am in. I go to a health spar and find it quite annoying when see people doing weights when they dont ahve a clue on technique and lifting weights far to heavy. I was just wonderin what type of gym you all go to, like an old fashioned hardcore iron gym, or a stezza gym or just a health spar where you have the essentials and can have a leisurely swim at the end !

whats a stezza gym? do you mean a gym full of people on steroids?

mine is a mix of the first 2. definately not a spa. you come out of the shower dirtier than when you went in. its gross lol.

couldnt go to a total fitness type place. need a gym with a proper atmosphere.

I got a home gym as dont have time for a normal gym due to work, family e.t.c. Although am missing out big time on the training partner. Would of thought it depends on your size e.t.c. to the type of gym you want.

Yer a stezza gym is one full of roiders. My gym has got a good atmosphere plus plenty of ladies on runners, cross cycle, spinners etc which is always nice ! We only have about 4 or 5 steroid users in our gym well that are obvious anyway, one bloke does tricep dips with 100kg strapped to him its crazy!

Personsaly i think as long as you have a good atmosphere and the equipment you need its all good. The steroid users are good to keep a eye on they'll make you realise why there bad, acne, bad attitude, bitch tit, e.t.c. Learning from others mistakes is always thre best way. I have tattooed a few steroid users they have bad skin and might be strong but are really bad sitters so arent all that tough.

my training partner does dips with 100kg but isnt on roids. just a freak lol. there hasnt been a lady in out gym in years lol. well there may have been but she probably looked too much like a bloke to realise. we have some good level bodybuilders as well so not all stupid chavs on roids that dont know what theyre doing.

The place I use is predominently for Students but is open for public use. It has 3 gyms, 2 with machines and cardio equipment, 1 dedicted weight room, with olympic stands etc so something for everyone. I can't comment on the sort of people that use the gym as there are not that many people there when I am working out. It is definitely too early for Students, they are probably just getting in from their night out! haha

mines the same TJLEE, its based on campus and is actually a really good gym, its actually more like a sports centre, with a solid amount of free weights DB's up to 50kg, though don't think they get touched too often, not even by the rugby lads!!! as well as a ton of cardio equipment and then other rooms for squash, basketball, 5-a-side so you never get bored with what cardio you have to do. And being a student it only cost me £50 for a year membership, it's got a good atmosphere but sometimes too good as the majrity of the people there tend to spend 3/4 of the time chatting and the other 1/4 actually doing weights, I bought some sick sennheiser earphones for the gym so i can really feel the bass and just shut off from everyone else when im there, on the plus side whatever equipment i use is usually free

I go to a Fitness First which opened a couple of years ago - reasonable size free weights area, although we really could do with a power rack or another squat rack at the very least...

Loads of cardio machines & people mincing around generally not doing very much lol

I go to a hardcore bodybuilding gym in denton called betta bodies where cnp are based, ive thought about going back to a fitness type gym a few times because its abit far away but i definately prefer the atmosphere, everyone goes in in their work gear and your not afraid to sweat and shout! Dont get many girls in there but the ones you do get make up for it, there was a fitness model in there the other week doing a photo shoot, i couldn't concentrate on doing legs! Only problem is theres no pool or sauna or anything like you get with the fitness ones.
