i dont think there is a set time. i go by number of sets and rest periods. if cutting i will do maybe 12-15 sets per big bodypart with 30 seconds rest. that should take no more than 30 minutes. if mass gaining i will have up to 120 seconds rest and do no more than 12 sets per body part. that is probably closer to 45 minutes. add cardio onto the first one and you are looking at 90 minutes in the gym as well. it depends on your goals. people that say you shouldnt train for more than 45 minutes or else you are overtrianing are not taking into account the fact that everyone is different with different goals etc.

Agree with the above. It just all depends on what you are trying to achieve and how you go about it. Personally, I am cutting at the moment so I am performing 15+ sets with 30 seconds rest in between, so take around 35 to 45 minutes to complete my weight training and then I complete about 20minutes of cardio.

Was twice a week, backed it off to once a week, shortly switching back to twice a week. One will be a heavy session mainly just squats & variations, one more on single leg work, explosive movement, jumps etc.
