    Default Yawning

During my workout today I was yawning an awful lot, this has happened before when weight training and also when doing my cardio. It seems to usually be in between sets or rounds, when weight training I do not leave much time between sets mainly due to training alone and heart rate is usually quite high through out. I would not say I am tired at all so just wondering what it might be, i dont take any pre-workout supplements but usually have eaten 2 hours before i get to the gym.

Anyone else ever had this? Any advice or opinions?

    Thanks
    Gavin

Yeah, I do this sometimes. Power thru it or have some simple carbs. I keep a packet of dextrose tabs in my gym bag. I'm sure someone will have a more technical answer! lol

Have a look at this, some interesting stuff on there:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yawn

Anecdotal evidence suggests that yawning helps increase the state of alertness of a person – paratroopers have been noted to yawn in the moments before they exit the aircraft,[12] while speed skater Apolo Ohno yawns before races because it relaxes him.[13][14]

So it is more than likely to be a lack of oxygen in the bloodstream.

Wow I was just having PM conversation with another member about yawning and I suggested an excess of CO2 in the system. Then I came onto the forum and noticed this thread for the first time....strange.
