    Angry Stupid insurance!!

I really shouldnt complain because i get my car insurance free (my dad owns a car dealership so im on their insurance), but he was renewing the insurance today and i was hoping I could get on full insurance. Unfortunately they wouldnt allow it so as it stands im restricted to a 1.4 engines until im 25!!! I dont want to sound like im moaning as i appreciate not having to pay for my insurance but i really wanted to chav it up in an impreza for at least a month just to get it out of my system!! lol

    Anyway rant over.

Does anyone out there have a fast car and when did you get your first proper car (must be 2ltr or above lol)

my last car was a mk4 golf. i loved it. always wanted a golf and then got one and was sooo happy. much better than my first car (rover lol). i put so much power into my sound system in the golf the batter would die and the car would turn off randomly when i was driving, really scary when going round a corner and you lose power sterring all of a sudden lol. i really want a gold R32 as well, theyre nice. my dad let me drive a 350bhp impreza for one night last year and i fell in love lol. it was terrifying.

Wilks i see your point and im sure ill go back to a 1.4 or something in later life but right now i just want to enjoy driving.

the golf mk4's are gorgeous fair play i loved mine too , mine used to do the exact same cut out , the first reason was u put the clutch in to coast a corner and the rev counter would just drop and the car would stall !! found out after months that it was a dirty throttle air thing , 2nd time the piece of metal on top of the battery snapped !!! , lol ive had toe 1.4 golf mk4 which i didnt like coz it was such a smart car but no power i was lucky because mine came with the 18" vag wheels what do you drive now AC?

that makes much more sense. my dad clearly isnt a very good mechanic or he didnt care what the problem was lol.

at the moment i have an 05 plate astra. its really nice, its the SXI so has the nice alloys etc. the only problem is its a 1.4 so got no oomph. Im putting a crazy sound system in next week so even though ill be going slow... ill be going loud lol.

How about buying an Impreza and take it on some trackdays? Get someone old enough to drive your car there and you are good to go.

I love my current car, but I'm old & have done my time in uninspiring cars.... (though I did have motorbikes at the same time).
