    Default Feel unconfident

Hi guys sorry to nag. Not sure if trying to look lean is me. I am 6f6 and 13.7 stone. I have a PT once a week who works on building my upper body. My question is when i have him i work till i cant lift anymore. When i do it myself i use all sorts of equip bench press 15kg either side 2 sets of 8. bicep curls using bumbell 10kg or barbell curl 25kg. I use other equip to for legs, and triceps etc. But i never seems to tire myself out. I have noticed my arms thickening up and my PT said he noticed aswell. Is this down to my PT or me doing stuff rest of week. anyone advise

Not really sure what your question is here?

Is it that you aren't getting the same intensity when you are training on your own vs with your PT? If it is, then take a look at your weights, reps, sets and also rest periods between sets.

Or is the question about getting bigger arms?

If you are unconfident using free weights alone either recruit a gym buddy or use the machines until your confidence grows mate.

Talk to your PT when you have your next session & try to get some understanding of exactly what you are doing & why, then use that knowledge when you are doing the sessions on your own. If you get totally confused or forget what you are doing then grab one of the gym staff to give you some pointers until you can check in with your PT again.

A good personal trainer will create a programme for you, which is based around your goals, i.e to cut down and look ripped or to bulk up etc. He should then take you through your programme and make sure you are carrying out each exercise with good form and for the required number of sets and reps to help you achieve your goals. He should also be able to give you advice on nutrition, the amount of times you should be working out, etc and basically be there as a source of information, guidance and confidence building.

If you discuss these issues with your PT and you still feel like you are getting nowhere, then I would think of finding someone else. There are loads out there, who are highly experienced and would get you on the right track.

    Good luck mate.
