Default Any advice for the females?

    Hey

I think, despite the female in the top banner of this website, that this is quite a male-dominated forum and I worry the advice posted is, presumably, aimed at men. I obviously won't be able to bench the same weight as anyone in here!!

Would anyone be able to offer advice to a female?

I'm generally fit in that I used to be a runner and love classes at the gym. I've never done the free weights thing as not sure what to do!

    Hi there.
It all depends on what you are looking to achieve, as in your Goals.
All advice given in this forum for bulking, cutting, fitness etc, can be aimed at Males or Females. Regardless of sex, everybody is different, when it comes to weights they can lift or fitness levels etc. You just have to try and work-out from the information provided here and from other sources, what is best for you.

Example: the sets and reps that are recommended for Males for muscle mass would be the same for Females, it would just be that the Female may be using a lower weight to suit their strength level. Then again, I am sure there are women that can lift more than some of the guys in the gym!!!!

If you post your goals, there are some really knowledgeable guys on here that will be able to give you advice etc.

Also, bodybuilding.com provides some great information for different exercises, for each muscle group. I use the website alot, when I am wanting to see how a movement is performed correctly etc.

    Agreed!

Also don't worry about how much you lift in comparison to anyone else. It's not about what anyone else can do, it's about what you can do (if that makes any sense!)
