have you gone heavy recently on a shoulder exercise? I did my shoulder a while back and upright rows killed me so stopped for about a month. Went mental the other day and tried hitting aload of pb's. Went heavy on upright rows and when benching today my shoulder was sore. Could be a rotary cuff injury you picked up?

I'm nt 100% sure as a novice to all this, when i done my shoulder the pain lasted about a month so i avoided certain exercises. Obviously bench press is much needed

Don't lift if your in pain mate, probably best to rest it and see if that helps, if not maybe a sports physio..... Don't want to be ****ing your shoulder up even more by continuing to lift whilst it's hurting

ive had this problem, doing some chest excercises brings in the shoulders i.e incline and cable crossovers, the way i got around it was just to power through and make sure u train well on shoulders, if its agony then do not try this!!!! youve gotta let things recover firsts, try some rotary cuff excercises because that helped me loads

If you getting shoulder pains its probably due to your technique, I used to get the same problem until I changed my lifting style. It's important to remove any shoulder involvement in your benching so its fully focused on your chest and tris. If you PM me I can post you a DVD on barbell liting techniques which will really help in perfecting you lifting technique.
If its true you only go around once, you might as well go around with really big biceps.

Personally I find that if you go heavy to many weeks on the trot, something will start to nag you for it.. Normally your shoulders.
If you have pain on the flat bench press, there's no reason to stop. Find an alternative exercise you can do that doesn't cause any discomfort during and after the movement.
So if flat bench hurts, try incline...vary the angle of the incline...
Try changing from Barbell to dumbells.

You need to keep the muscle moving, this helps keep what you've already gained and helps stretch any scar tissue..
