    Default Cramp

Keep on getting cramp in the strangest of places..... Whilst doing machine chest press I kept getting cramp in one of my toes. I also get cramp in my hip sometimes when I dumbell or barbell press. Got a new one today in the form of agonising cramp in the side of my heel whilst doing press ups. Hurts like hell and puts my right off my set.

Any ideas of how to get rid? And stop them re-occurring?

Agreed, one of the biggest contributors to cramp is Salt (sodium) deprevation and dehydration.

Thirded (is that a word???) lack of salt usually the main cause, maybe its the way your sat or led and putting stress on a certain part of your body???

Yeah, i agree with whats been said.
Increase sodium slightly...and maybe look at adding in some Taurine and Electrolytes...and drink more!

I have found that since I stopped running (for approx a month now), when I do a legs session I will get calf cramp the following day. This occurs if I train first thing in the morning or in the evening - the following day, calf cramp and it bl00dy hurts. I do watch my salt intake, but why is it that I only seem to be affected when I lift weights.

    Any suggestions

Cramp isn't from too much salt, it's from not enough. When you're doing cardio you lose a lot of salt in your sweat, and if you don't replace it, cramp. Cramp usually occurs in muscles that are suddenly contracted without being properly warmed up first too, so make sure your warmup cycle is really thorough!

Urithrand, I monitor my intake as I dont want take too much salt in my diet, I am aware that not enough salt it can cause cramp. I do stretch and do warm down, however, when I run I obviously found it easier stretch, maybe I should try harder and stretch my legs and calves for longer.

    Bloody hurts though, lol
