    Default digestion

If food takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours to digest, would a protein carb shake take the same amount of time? Because its liquid surely it should settle in quicker in theory?

I think generally you should be looking to have any fat burners a good 30 mins minimum before eating.... but of course, always check the label

gastic emptying happens ever 90 minutes - 2 hours so take around that time after eating. or 30 minutes before. it wont affect the fat burners much at all in my opinion.

Yes it would digest qucker. Whey protein is digested the fastest within an hour, followed by egg protein (which takes only slightly longer.) Both of these sources of protein have very high absorption rates. Consequently what is the carb part of the shake made up of? I'm guessing probabably a form of dextrose, more than likely maltodextrin, which is also fast digesting. However if it is one of the maizes it may differ in digestion times slightly.

There are mixed reviews on the digestion and absorption rate of waxy maize, but the general conception is that it digests faster than maltodextrin which is quite quickly. Within 30 mins apparently. I believe oats have a sustained release of energy and a low GI which will be digested over much longer periods of time.

    I hope this helps.
