    Default i'm sooooo hungry!

    First cut is the deepest!!!!

Well i’ve just started my first cut, which i’m hoping will last 12 weeks and take me below 10% body fat.
I’m 6 feet 4, 15 stone 1 and 15.4% body fat at the moment. I’ve worked out that i’l need to be taking in 2000calories a day, made up of 200grams protein, 200grams carbs and 44grams of fat.
I’m doing 4 days weights a week and trying to squeeze in at least 2 cardio sessions, and always 2 consecutive rest days at the end of the week. Normally i train at approx 330 but couple times i week i train in the evening at about 8.

I’m three days in and am doin reasonably well. Hitting my targets and eating very clean but each day i seem to be struggling more and more with hunger!!

My diet is as follows, with a couple of changes here and there to mix it up.......

On waking – whey protein, 3 weetabix
Mid morn – 2 slices wholemeal bread, 1 tin tuna
Lunch – 4 egg whites, 1 whole egg omelette with veg and 4 slices reduced fat bacon.
Mid aft – normally train, so whey protein shake with glucose after.
    Dinner – 250g prawns, veg, 100 g wholemeal rice
Mid eve – struggling here big time!!
Before bed – phd 6hr blend

Mid evening is the worst for me. Get really hungry but have more or less hit all my figures for the day. Normally i actually go over on my protein and consistently lower on my carbs. Fats are normal on the mark so too are calories.

Weetabix are low on cals, carbs and fats so this aft i had to munch two cause i was so hungry!

Do i just need to accept that i’m gonna be hungry while cutting and just toughen up for the next 12 weeks? Or can anyone help with my diet or suggest anything?

    Thanks.

Dunno if nuts would maybe be a option mid afternoon? High in protein low in carbs and keep the metabolism going?

To be honest I'm guessing I'm no expert in diet, I'm sure one of the others will answer you.

Firstly I cant lie to you, after just doing a cut for 13 weeks, being hungary is just one of the things you have to put up with! It is all worth it in the end though and as you get more and more into the routine of eating, it just becomes second nature and I actually got used to being hungary!

Personally, I would not go for Weetabix in the morning, I would substitute this for good old fashioned Oats. Weetabix contain too much sugar for my liking. Also, I would give the Bacon a miss, whilst it does contain a good source of protein, it also contains HIGH amounts of salt, which you want to be avoiding! For this meal, I would just increase the amount of eggs you are having instead!

For the mid evening snack (depending on what time you are having your dinner), perhaps just some chicken (a great source of protein) and as Matt said, maybe a handful of Almonds or Cashew Nuts!

Apart from that mate, its looking good.....good luck!!!!!!!

You could probably eat alot more protein and a bit more fat than you are doing, i normally have 1.5-2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight 1 gram carbs and about 5-10g of fat with every meal. Depends how fast your metabolism is but if you're losing it fast add a few high carb days in there where your eating 2 or 3g per pound of bodyweight for carbs, and drop the fat and protein slightly. I normally just have 200-300g of chicken with salad for tea and a tablespoon of peanut butter, then get well away from any food and do something to get my mind of eating!

if you are hungry on that diet you would literally die on mine lol. im on 290g protein, 35g fat and 10g carbs lol. you get used to the hunger. after about 5 days its jsut the normal way to feel so you barely notice it. its after your first cheat meal that you struggle as the hunger goes into overdrive.

just keep it up and remember that as you lose more fat you will need to keep lowering and lowering the calories so it will get worse lol.

Ur a big boy mate, so go for 2g of protein per lb, and fats 0.5/lb.. So your protein would be at around 400g a day and 100g+ fats = twice as much as u on just now (feeling better?lol), only decrease if your progress stals as if u don't deliver enough fuel your body will start feeding on your muscles.

Its hard for me to even get close to 10g carbs everyday for me working in an office. Best I can do is probably around 40g carbs daily. damn my office for not having cooking equipment so i can cook some eggs! lol normally i just get precooked chicken from m&s or tescos. I think i need to mix things up and get some ham and oh AC the levi roots sauce is going down a treat haha
