    Question Advice on this idea please

    The area I reckon I struggle with most is being really strict on diet, I'm often here there & everywhere with work and being organised enough to pre-prepare everything I need to get through the week often just doesn't happen.

    So.... I had this idea that simplicity is the key here, with that in mind if an average shake of protein X has the following profile:

    Energy = 315 kcal
    Protein = 50g
    Carbs = 10g
    Fat = 6g

    And if one were to have say 6 of those in a day, with maybe some olive oil thrown in a couple of them that would give you:

    Energy = 2160 kcal
    Protein = 300g
    Carbs = 60g
    Fat = 66g

    Plus say 10g a day of flaxseed oil, a decent multi vitamin, some fibre tablets and maybe some BCAA's.

    Would that be any good for cutting, maybe say for a 30 day plan, with some fat burner & pre-workout (essentially just stimulants, no extra carbs) thrown in for good measure ?????

    Or is this a very bad idea?

    Thoughts/experiences please...!

    Depends how much you weigh, but i think you'd either have to lower the carbs and up the fat or up the carbs n lower the fat! Do you mean your just going to have protein shakes and no food aswel!?

    I am with Machine......I wouldn't advise shakes alone, I don't think they are intended as a complete 100% meal replacement.

    food is key. there is a LOT that you get from food that you dont get from shakes. you need the vitamins etc from food. plus you may literally poo water for a month.

    When i'm away from home I take a bag of food with me that I can leave in the car & hotel. Tinned tuna and salmon. Oat biscuits, ground oats for shakes, nuts, etc. I also make cous cous for lunch as you can just add boiling water. Normally have a protein bar in the car for longer journeys and meetings (will often go to bathroom if in a meeting and throw a bar down quick!) Vits and protein bolster my diet as required. Hope that helps!

    Don't do it lol.

    You need the macronutrients for sure (protein/carbs/fats), but the micronutrients and minerals contained in real food are invaluable.

    It's a better option than only liquids! You can top up on veg on the evening. You can't cook veg on the road and salad isn't good after a day in the car! Fruit wouldn't be a great option for Glen as he's cutting.

    Personally, the idea of only liquid in implies to me only liquid out. That is enough to put me off the idea!

    Ive known a few amateur body builders who haev used 5-7 day stints of only using whey powder (specifically picking low carb wheys). (SciTec do a 0% Whey, and Reflex is only 2g per scoup ... which would be 24g / day).

    The point of the reply is they became very moody and very hormonal, even though they were taking fibre tablets it became a very much strength of mind ordeal. Towards the end they were mixing it up with very little water in order to get a thick mouse so psycological it felt like them were eating.
