it depends what im doing , on my cardio runs i do this thing where i make a playlist and for each song i imagine a situation like i was in a documentary like a rock song to which it shows me in the gym training , another good tune where im posing on stage and like a soft melodic tune to where the credits are rolling showing the highs and lows of where i had been to get there lol its so weird but the 45 mins flies by !!!
daydreaming is the best thing in the world to get you through cardio. I remember back in the day i usd to have to bike about 6 miles to school and had my ipod in (1st generation beast), and the only thing that kept me peddaling was some hardcore rock and daydreams of me killing my dad for making me bike to school when he drove my sister there every day. good times.

MATE SO TRUE !!!!! SAME HERE HAHA
Metal, and only metal. I normally listen to Bleeding Through to pump me up as particular songs trigger bad memories, which in turn get the blood flowing. After that, anything fast and blasty - Soilwork, The Black Dahlia Murder, Shadows Fall, older Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Chimaira, DevilDriver... if it's post-90 and riffy, chances are I'll work out to it.

Ac i might use that myself... the gym i go to theres always someones ipod on with some podcasts playing, sort of heavy dance tunes, it works but i prefer a good bit of rock or rap! lol
I remember when i had upped a run to the longest distance i had ever done before, i had my ipod on shuffle, and just as i was losing heart and felt like giving up one of those really inspirational songs came on- and i was like, yeah come on i got this now!
...shame i cant remember what song it was now!

Ive got 2 different playlists for the gym, one for weights and the other for cardio. Drum and bass for cardio, and pretty much just all Wu Tang Clan for weights.
theres a guy in my gym that listens to beethoven, bach and all that stuff. He says he does it cause it helps with his rhythm and helps him with good form.

I was thinking about listening to classical music during my weights sessions for enhanced focus, really bored of all the stuff on my ipod at at moment.
I remember reading about a guy who listens to Celine Dion whilst training, how sad is that!!
