Can someone give me advice on carbs when bulking. Should they be avoided after a certain time or taken right the way up till bed time? Got a pack of waxy should I put a serving in with my bed time protein shake? Carbs are obviously needed to gain, my concern is if I'm asleep it will go straight to my gut.

I wouldn't reccomend carbs that late at night, try and get all your carbs in before 6 or 7 go for slow release low gi carbs like waxy vol or just simple oats as much as you can and I like to have a fast release high gi carb like maltodextrin as well as some waxy vol or oats post workout just to cause an insulin spike and get my body into an anabolic state

again joe sounds like good advice, would having fast and fasting carbs at the same time work?? i.e using malto and waxy vol with whey at the same time still cause an insulin spike?

I'm pretty sure it does, its similar to how pharma blend has different time release proteins and you're body can detect each one and it absorbs at different times, Your body gets the maltdextrin straight away to cause the insulin spike and then the waxy vol would keep your body at a steady anabolic state.
You can also just add maltodextrin to your whey shake drink that, and immediately follow it up with a shake of waxy vol, which is probably a better option if your waxy vol is flavoured.

I was planning on putting a scoop of waxy in with my protein, so one morning then one or two more before leaving work at 7 is that worth doing? I workout late due to work, kids etc so sometimes earliest finish is 9 but normaly 11 or 12 should I still use waxy at that time or stick to recovery then protein a touch later?

Try PHD Recovery 2:1 supposed to be a very very good post workout shake perfect combination of protein to carbs, fast and slow releasing not tried it myself but will be ordering in the coming weeks. As mentioned above try to get all your slow releasing carbs in before bedtime as your body will just convert left over to fat store in your sleep, or so I@m led to beleive.

Tried my first serving of the recovery today (berry blast) the taste is a bit sweet but nice, took it straight after my back and biceps workout, cant coment on effectivness as of yet, but all the nutrients are awsome for post workout recovery, would recommend

I've got recovery already replaced it with muscle tech cell tech at the mo just to use the tub up. Does anyone know if oats should be put in with waxy, or is it to much carbs?

I'd go one or the other, but not both.

Thought that was probably the case, thanks. I'm glad you said that it's hard work drinking a protein shake with 100g's roughly of oats a serving of waxy and what ever water will fit in the shaker :) saying that the oats mix really well with strawberry synergy.
